The Public Utilities Board (PUB), the national water agency of Singapore, is in full swing, identifying measures necessary to protect coastal reservoir structures, particularly in the Estuarine reservoirs, where nine out of the seventeen reservoirs in Singapore are located. Maxwell GeoSystems’ MissionOS has been implemented for the Dam Automation Instrumentation Monitoring System (DAIMS), to support the PUB’s objective with Ryobi Geotechnique Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), for the instrument installation and monitoring works. Currently, Ground Settlement Points (GSM), Turbidity Sensors (TB), Vibration Meters (VM) and Weir Monitor Piezometers (WMP) are installed and monitoring in real-time across the Estuarine reservoirs. The DAIMS is now in its 14th month of successful implementation, with the required instrumentation already well-in place and monitoring. Also, implemented in the DAIMS is a “System Health Report” function, a crucial requirement for the PUB to monitor condition / status of the instruments within the reservoirs. This feature was deployed to check the service availability of the instruments on a monthly basis and to ensure 100% availability of records, as required. The project is expected to be completed by January 2026 Maxwell GeoSystems is also involved in the implementation of STEMS (Shaft and Tunnel Excavation Monitoring System) in PUB’s DTSS2 project, for which the company was awarded Tunnelling Specialist Supplier of the Year, at the prestigious NCE Tunnelling Festival Awards in 2021.
