Last week, Ms Indranee Rajah, Second Minster of Finance (Singapore) and Ms Grace Fu, Minster for Sustainability and the Environment (Singapore) visited the Shaft & Tunnel Monitoring System (STEMS) to see the progress of the DTSS2 project.
Ms Indranee Rajah stated that the sewerage system can last for the next 100 years, which would effectively benefit the next generation and the generation after that in Singapore. About 24km of the 100km system has been completed. The S$6.5 billion project is expected to be completed in 2025, with Maxwell Geosystems’ MissionOS as the centralised source of information for both Instrumentation and Construction related data for the entire project.
The Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Phase 2 (DTSS-2) project is a network of deep tunnel sewers that makes use of gravity to channel used water to three centralised treatment plants, where the water is purified to produce new water. Upon completion, intermediate pumping stations and conventional water reclamation plants will be phased out.
