We’re excited to announce the appointment of Rich Laver to Maxwell GeoSystems, who joins us as a Senior Technical Manager, based out of our Hong Kong office.
Rich studied his MEng at the University of Cambridge and subsequently his PhD in the interpretation of tunnel monitoring data. Rich then moved to Hong Kong, working predominantly for the specialist geotechnical engineering firm GCG Asia.
Rich has always had a passion to innovate. Over his 14 years in Hong Kong, Rich developed apps to streamline the interpretation of instrumentation data from landmark projects including the West Kowloon Terminus (WKT), the Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway System (HKIA 3RS) and other Mass Transit Railway (MTR) projects. Rich has also developed digital twins and more recently managed digital projects for a fast-growing digital twin start-up. He’s an active promoter of Distributed Fibre Optic Strain Sensing (DFOSS), designing DFOSS systems and developing digital twin integration.
Rich now set to leverage his industry background and digital skillset to grow business for Maxwell GeoSystems in Hong Kong and the wider Asia region.
