Today, we take a moment to shine a spotlight on Sunitha Mary Jose, Human Resources Manager with Maxwell GeoSystems, based out of Kochi, India. 

Ever since joining the company back in 2019 as Human Resources Executive, Sunitha has brought in new HR inputs and insights into the small, close-knit group of developers, along with working closely with the global team. Sunitha has been actively involved in creating processes in-line with the work culture, maintaining a family-styled atmosphere, and also preparing the team and overall processes to handle the growing needs of the business. In July 2021, Sunitha was promoted to Human Resources Manager.

Over the years, Sunitha has undertaken numerous tasks, which come with their own challenges. On this, she mentions, “One of the main challenges was to ensure the presence of Maxwell GeoSystems was made known in the job market to ensure we attract top talents to match our growing business needs. This was even more crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, we had moved into remote-working style, with 30 staff members in office, and returned back to a fully functional office, with over 60 staff members. Over this time, we ensured minimum disruption to our employees and clients, proving that with resilience and collaborative working, it was possible to achieve great success.”

When asked to share some of her greatest accomplishments since joining, Sunitha said, “Although our office in Kochi isn’t based out of the Technology & Science park complex, my team and I have provided a strong presence of the company, through numerous branding and HR related activities. This has helped us in attracting and recruiting the best candidates for any positions we have open. I am also proud of how we’ve maintained and nurtured a family-feel work culture, celebrating various holidays, company events, and exploring career development within the company. Furthermore, we’ve developed online systems and have a transparent performance model system in place, which helps facilitate my tasks.

Finally, we envision a future for our team that supports our continued growth, while ensuring we effectively address the evolving needs of the business, as well as the well-being of our employees.”
