Mining Survey Results | Global

In a recent LinkedIn survey which we conducted, that focussed on challenges in implementing and adopting technology in the mining industry, 57% of the participants pinpointed “resistance to change”, as the foremost challenge. Despite vast advancements in technology and the benefits it brings to projects, especially post COVID-19, this highlights the industry’s struggle to navigate technological shifts and employee reluctance when implementing new solutions and systems.
We also saw 29% of the respondents citing “security and integrity of data” as the second most significant obstacle. Although cyber security and system integrity has drastically improved over the years, there is still an apprehension surrounding this in the mining industry. The findings from the survey reflect a pressing need for mining companies to prioritise their strategies, begin shifting traditional working practices within the organisation, and capitalise on the potential benefits of emerging systems and technologies.
As a company, we have implemented secure project wide communications, in the most demanding and remote environments. By working closely with the clients’ existing infrastructure, Maxwell GeoSystems integrate online maintenance capabilities and provide key data without compromising the integrity of the corporate systems.
Our MissionOS system provides secure, published data that has been processed, audited, vetted, filtered and quarantined, where necessary. On top of this, we utilise AWS servers for data hosting and security, providing ease-of-mind to our system users.
