Compound Instruments Advancements

New features have been added to the Compound Instruments to augment its capabilities, and enhancements and fixes introduced to update the system.

The following describes the details of the improvements:

1. Enhanced Instrument Configuration:

  • Define position and relationship order for derived instruments during setup and group creation.
  • Implement the flexibility of Blocking and Non-Blocking behaviour for enhanced control.
  • The separator for a specific loop formula has been updated from ‘,’ (comma) to ‘;’ (semi-colon), and the child index now starts with ‘0’.

2. Dynamic Inclinometer Revision:

  • Easily revise inclinometers for changes in child instrument status. Thus, ensure accurate and updated inclinometer readings, reflecting real-time alterations.

3. Introduction of Partial Blocking Behaviour:

  • Enhances calculation flexibility.
  • With this feature, if a child is absent or lacks data required for a calculation, the respective calculation will result in an empty value.
  • If the Parent calculation field name is ABC, Child[0] field name is F1 and Child[1] field name is G1, then the explicit calculation is self.ABC = Child[0].F1 + Child[1].G1
In the equation, if child[1] is missing, the calculation for self.ABC will not be executed.
  • If an implicit calculation is done, even if a child reading is missing, it will be done without affecting the calculation. This is specifically for “Non-Blocking” instrument setup, which can have data issues when explicitly referred.

4. Calibration Precision:

  • New Calculated Calibration feature to enhance the usability of calibration fields based on calculations.
  • Enhance calibration processes to ensure precise and reliable measurements.

5. Control Hierarchy for Derived Instruments:

  • Utilise the Controlling Child feature to establish control hierarchy for derived instruments.

6. Dynamic Calculation Handling:

  • Introduce a refinement in calculation processing for improved accuracy and results, especially in Composite Master calculations.
  • Enhance the system to refrain from calculating a field if any associated data/calibration/calculation field is empty.
